Hershey's vs Titanic

In 1912 Milton Hershey and his wife Kitty had a first-class stateroom on the Titanic booked.

Lucky for them a last minute business matters required Milton's attention and so he and his wife took an earlier ship; the German Amerika - one of this ships to send warnings of icebergs to the Titanic.

The $300 deposit check that Hershey's wrote to book his stateroom is currently safely in the archives of the Hershey story museum.
